Three arrested in high speed pursuit

Chase began in El Capitan area, speeds up to 120 mph

Montecito pursuit
MONTECITO, Calif. -

A man hunt was underway in Montecito following a car chase on Highway 101 through Santa Barbara County.

The chase began at the El Capitan area and speeds reached 120 miles per hour Friday.

Three men in a white sedan pulled off the freeway at Hot Springs Road in Montecito. They parked the car in the Vons parking lot and ran.

Officers caught up with two of them on Palm Tree Lane. The third suspect was caught by Santa Barbara police officers in thick brush near Montecito Country Club on the 200 block of Hot Springs Road.

A K-9 unit and sheriff’s helicopter were called in to help. California Highway Patrol officials are investigating.
