From the Santa Barbara County Courthouse, to State St. and Cabrillo Blvd., thousands came to the City of Santa Barbara to celebrate the Independence Day.
The all Volunteer Spirit of ’76 Foundation presented the 52nd Annual 4th of July Parade. The grand march started at 1:00pm at Micheltorena Street and proceeded down State Street to Old Town Santa Barbara.
The theme for the 2014 Parade was “Made in the USA-Bill of Rights.” The theme gives participants in the parade some structure to help them prepare their presentations.
At the Santa Barbara County Courthouse, hundred attended a free patriotic concert at the Sunken Gardens. It’s a continuing tradition.
Founder/Conductor Christopher Story VI shared the podium with Associate Conductor Dr. Michael Shasberger, Adams Chair of Music and Worship at Westmont College.
The orchestra brought together Cielo Foundation for the Performing Arts, in collaboration with the Spirit of '76 Foundation for a performance they called the American Salute.
Many also poured the streets around the waterfront. Along Cabrillo Boulevard were the sights and sounds of Fourth of July Celebrations. Many parking structures filled up to capacity by 1pm.
