Strike teams from Santa Barbara County join Ventura County firefight

63 firefighters called into service in Camarillo and Newbury Park

CARPINTERIA. Calif. -

63 firefighters and 15 engines were called out this morning from Santa Barbara County to help battle the flames in Ventura County at the "Springs" fire.

The engines came from several departments including Santa Barbara County, Santa Barbara City, Montecito Fire Protection District, and Carpinteria Fire Protection District.

The firefighters joined together as a team on Bailard Ave. at Carpinteria Ave.  

The roadside All American Surf Dog owner, Bill Connell handed them hot dogs, and cold water as they quickly united into a caravan and headed south.
