Santa Barbara Foresters Begin Defense of Their Title Saturday

They won the National Baseball Congress World Series in 2006 and then again last season. On Saturday the Santa Barbara Foresters quest for a third NBC title begins when the team opens its season at UCSB in a four o'clock game.

The Foresters have made it to the National Baseball Congress World Series in Wichita, Kansas in all 14 years Bill Pintard has managed the club. In those 14 tournament appearances, Santa Barbara has the highest winning percentage of any semipro team in the country.
