UCSB Men's Basketball Team Slips To Last Place In Conference
Chris Devine did his part with 16 points and 12 rebounds. James Powell did his part off the bench with 14 points, which included four (3-pointers). But some how the Gauchos found a way to let another one slip away.
Vincent Cordell's lay-up with 11 seconds remaining in the game proved to be the difference as Cal State Northridge beat UCSB 72-70 Thursday night at the Thunderdome. The loss dropped the Gauchos into last place in the Big West Conference with a 2-6 record. Eight of the nine conference teams qualify for the post-season tournament in Anaheim. "The frustration is building, no doubt," said UCSB coach Bob Williams. That frustration stems from the fact the Gauchos have lost eight of their last eleven games. |
