Six people hospitalized following head-on crash near Guadalupe

Red mustang collides with van

SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Several people were rushed to the hospital following a high-speed car crash Thursday morning.

According to California Highway Patrol, it happened just before 7:00 a.m. near the intersection of Brown Rd. and Betteravia Rd. between Santa Maria and Guadalupe when a red Ford Mustang and a white van collided head-on.

A total of five people were injured in the crash, according to the Guadalupe Fire Department. All were all taken to Marian Regional Medical Center with injuries ranging from major to minor, CHP said. One person had to be extricated from the one of the vehicles.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
