SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

Some employees of the Santa Barbara Unified School District might get layoff notices.

The school board will vote Tuesday night at the 6:30 p.m. meeting whether or not to reduce hours and layoff some classified employees. That includes computer support specialists, secretaries, curriculum specialists and a theater coordinator.

The school district said this happens annually and they anticipate that many of the layoff notices will be rescinded once a school budget is developed.
