SANTA MARIA, Calif. - Authorities have released the identity of a 22-year-old man who was killed in an early morning crash south of Guadalupe.
Edgar Contreras-Argote of Guadalupe was the sole occupant of a 2002 Pontiac Freebird that veered off the roadway at around 6:30 a.m. on Monday.
Contreras-Argote was not wearing his seatbelt and was partially ejected.
The crash occurred on Brown Road west of Betteravia Road.
California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash but it is not believed drugs or alcohol played a part.
