GUADALUPE, Calif. - Apio Inc., a vegetable packaging company based out of Guadalupe, is donating 24,000 salads to victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The Eat Smart® brand salads will be sent to the Houston Food Bank and distributed to those in need.
According to a press release from Apio Inc., the 24,000 salads will provide about 70,000 salad servings.
Molly Hemmeter, President and CEO of Apio's parent company Landec said in the press release:
“The hearts and minds of all of our employees are with those affected by this devastating disaster. We want to thank the Houston Food Bank for partnering with us to distribute fresh vegetable salads to those in need during this difficult time.”
Apio Inc. is the latest in a long list of Santa Barbara County-based organizations sending critical items and financial donations to victims of Hurricane Harvey.
