GOLETA, Calif. - Hundreds of people gave back to families here at home and around the world Thursday.
There was a huge turnout to volunteer at Direct Relief in Santa Barbara on Thanksgiving morning.
People formed an assembly line to pack hygiene kits for displaced families. The kits will be sent to disaster affected areas. In all about seven thousand kits were made.
Direct Relief is a humanitarian organization which provides medical aid and relief after natural disasters.
Volunteers also put together a few thousand dental kits for low income families in Santa Barbara.
