UCSB wall of justice

UCSB wall of justice

GOLETA, Calif. - As the Israeli-Palestinian conflict rages on, students at UCSB are voicing their concerns in a big way. A group of students who are part of the organization Students for Justice in Palestine put up a 30 by 10-foot wall on campus on Tuesday.

The students say the wall symbolizes the security barrier that Israel has constructed around the West Bank. Each panel of the wall paints a picture of some part of the conflict, from the number of casualties on both sides, to the U.S's involvement, to the history.

The purpose of the wall is to create peaceful campus dialogue, and to educate students about the ongoing turmoil in the region. While some pro-Israeli students seem to support the wall, others say the wall is missing some critical information.

The wall travels from various campuses throughout the country at different times of the year. The students also are working to stop UCSB from funding corporations that support the military occupation of Palestine. If they're successful, UCSB will become the fourth UC campus to join the effort.

Pro-Israeli student groups will be making their presentation later this week
