SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - People in the Santa Barbara County area are participating in International Women's Day Wednesday afternoon.
A large crowd rallied at De la Guerra Plaza in Downtown Santa Barbara and listened to supporters talk about the importance of fighting for equity, justice and women's rights.
People who attended the rally are skipping work, not spending money and wearing red for the day. The goal is to show the world how much of impact women make everyday in their personal lives and careers.
More than 100 people attended the peaceful rally. There were no counter protests in Downtown Santa Barbara.
