SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Santa Barbara County firefighters just returned home from battling wildfires in Northern and Southern California.
A strike team, consisting of five engines, was sent to battle the Canyon Fire 2 in Anaheim Hills. While crews were there, a series of destructive and deadly fires broke out in Northern California.
The team then joined 10,000 other firefighters to battle the Tubbs and Nuns fires, in and near Santa Rosa.
Nearly two dozen firefighters returned home on Sunday night. Another group was sent to take their place.
The Santa Barbara County Fire Department said it is fully staffed to handle a wildfire here at home, if one breaks out during the elevated fire danger conditions this week.
