SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Santa Barbara City College has canceled classes and closed the entire campus Tuesday because of the power outages caused by the Thomas Fire.
City College officials say that the school is not in immediate danger because of the fire.
Students that are on campus are asked to evacuate. Staff is walking around the campus to help.
City College says its primary concern right now is the safety of its students and is working on a plan to accommodate all classes.
School officials anticipate the college will re-open and operate as normal on Wednesday, Dec. 6. This includes the Wake and Schott Campuses, Cosmotology building and Child Care Center.
La Playa Stadium will remain closed.
"If you are unable to come to campus for either a final exam or regular work hours, inform your Professor and/or Supervisor. If your final exam was canceled, you will receive further information from your Professor," stated school officials in a news release.
