Protective Order in Alleged PVHS Teacher-Student Sex Case

Judge orders Brian Hook not to contact 16 year old alleged victim.

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - 53 year old Pioneer Valley High School teacher and varsity girls basketball coach Brian Hook has been ordered by a judge not to contact, in any way, the 16 year old girl and student Hook is accused of having unlawful sex with allegedly over a five month period dating back to last October..

The protective order applies only to Brian Hook himself and does not apply to Hook's wife who also works full time in administration at Pioneer Valley High School.

The alleged victim in the case also remains enrolled at the school.

If Hook is found to have violated the order, either directly or through third party contact from a family member or friend, he faces more charges.

Court documents reveal the alleged victim, identified only as Jane Doe 1, told police investigators she initiated the alleged physical and sexual relationship with Brian Hook inside and outside the classroom last October.

Jane Doe 1 claims the alleged sexual encounters with Hook also took place off campus at his home or at a local motel.

All Santa Maria Joint Union High School District staff are instructed not to be alone in a classroom or campus facility with a student at anytime.

"We try to educate our staff all the time, keep the door open when you have a student in the classroom", says Santa Maria Joint Union High School District Assistant Superintendent Tracy Marsh, "whenever you do have a student in a room, or if a student needs to talk to you about grades and such, set it up with the counselor as well, so there is a connecting point here where you can work as a team."

Brian Hook remains in Santa Barbara County jail and is expected to be back in court next month.
