Police Find Stolen Car After Short Pursuit

SANTA MARIA, Calif. - A man is behind bars Friday after a short pursuit through Santa Maria.

Police officers attempted to stop 20-year-old David Aron Luis-Reyes in the area of Main and Benwiley for a vehicle violation.

Luis-Reyes drove a 1994 green Saturn to the 600 block of West Cook Street and hit a brick wall in an alley. He then continued to run from police on foot.

Santa Maria Police K9 unit and Santa Barbara County Sheriff's helicopter helped locate the man hiding in the bushes. Officials found the car the suspect was driving to be stolen.

Luis-Reyes is being charged for a stolen vehicle and evading police.
