SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - It's one of Santa Barbara's biggest parties of the year and it's all about community and coming together to support the Pacific Pride Foundation. The non-profit organization services the gay and lesbian community in Santa Barbara County.
The 3rd annual Royal Ball will take place Saturday April 12th at Bacara Resort and Spa. This years theme will take guests to Paris. About 600 people will be dressed in elaborate costumes. There will be live dancers, acrobatics, musical performances, an assortment of food stations and cocktails.
Due to state budget cuts, the proceeds make a huge difference for Pacific Pride and the thousands it serves in the county.
Organizers hope to raise $250,000 to support the organization's important programs and HIV/Aids services. The Royal Ball will be followed by a Gospel Brunch on Sunday. The event gets the support of a number of groups throughout the community. It's open to all and not just the LGBT Community.
