SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - When Montecito residents evacuated on Thursday, Montecito Union School prepared to cancel its Father Daughter Dance that was supposed to be held at the school, but Friday's dance took place at Hotel Californian in Santa Barbara instead.
The change of location was made after parent Austin Herlihy mentioned it to the hotel's owner Michael Rosenfeld.
Rosenfeld has a daughter of his own and didn't want the children to miss out, so he invited the school to hold the dance in the hotel's Alhambra Ballroom.
General Manager Warren Nocon was directed to give fathers and daughters whatever they needed to make it happen on Friday evening.
It appears the girls danced with their dads for awhile, and then ditched them to dance with each other to their favorite songs.
