MONTECITO, Calif. - Montecito Fire Protection District has released three harrowing 911 calls from the early hours of the deadly Montecito mudslides.
The calls offer an in-person glimpse of the first terrifying moments from that devastating morning.
One call comes from a woman reporting the huge fireball that lit up the dark sky early that morning.
Another call tells the story of a man frantically attempting to get his wife and daughter evacuated from their home on East Valley Road.
A third call comes from a woman in Wisconsin who received an email from her son who was trapped in the kitchen of their Montecito home.
