ISLA VISTA, Calif. - Four men from Lompoc are under arrest in connection with a strong-arm robbery and stabbing in Isla Vista.
The Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office said the crimes happened early Sunday morning, about an hour apart.
The first victim, a 28 year-old man from Santa Barbara, was walking in the area of Pardall Road and Camino Pescadero around 12:50 a.m., when deputies said he was assaulted and robbed by a male suspect who was later identified as 22-year-old Ignacio Sanchez Reyes. The victim was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
Deputies took Reyes into custody at gunpoint after a short chase near the 900 block of Camino Pescadero. He was booked at county jail on robbery charges.
Around 2:20 a.m., deputies and UCPD officers responded to a report of a stabbing along the 6500 block of Del Playa Drive. A 21-year-old Isla Vista man was taken to the hospital with a stab wound.
Officers were given a description of three men who were possibly involved in the crime. UCPD officers detained three suspects at gunpoint near Camino Pescadero and Picasso Road.
The suspects are identified 21-year-old Javier Rodriguez-Anguiano, 21-year-old Francisco Guzman and 20-year-old Juan Raul Garibay Arredondo. Officers said all three may have been involved in the stabbing and are also possible associates of the strong-arm robbery suspect.
All three men were booked at the Santa Barbara County Jail for assault with a deadly weapon.
