SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Several FEMA-approved Foursquare disaster relief chaplains arrived in Santa Barbara to offer emotional and spiritual help to those affected by the devastating mudslides.
With the recent closure of the Red Cross emergency shelter at San Marcos High School, dozens of Montecito residents remain without a place to stay and without a timeline of when they can return home. This can bring great stress to individuals impacted by the mudslides and these chaplains are ready to help cope with the loss.
The chaplains are on the road with local police chaplains but have set up hours at New Life Church located at 50 E. Alamar Avenue at the following times.
- Friday, 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Saturday 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
- Sunday 2 p.m. - 6 p.m.
- Monday 10 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
If you or someone you know needs emotional support, stop by and talk to one of these chaplains. A team of chaplains trained in helping children through difficult times will be available through Saturday.
