SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Dead trees are being cut down in Santa Barbara before they fall down.
Two pines were carved up by city crews this morning on Carrillo near Miramonte Drive.
If they were to come down in the upcoming storms, they could lane in the traffic lanes.
Earlier this year there have been trees coming down on cars and homes both during storms and when it was dry. Some have fallen right after rainy periods when they went from a drought situation to a period when they had a large quantity of water in the trunks.
