Community Rallies Around Brave Lompoc Teen Fighting Cancer

LOMPOC, Calif. - For the past few months, 14-year-old Noah Scott has been fighting a courageous battle with an optimistic attitude.

"Don't stop fighting, just keep going, you're going to get through this," says Noah Scott.

His parents say he's remarkable. They say they first noticed something was wrong when he wasn't eating right and started loosing weight.

"You feel like you're on an island searching for answers you see that your son is sick and once the doctors diagnosed him with Leukemia," says Charles Scott, Noah's Dad.

They say the doctors told them for the next three years, Noah will be fighting a childhood blood cancer known as Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or ALL.

"Noah is remarkable, my husband and I have seen such strength in Noah that we didn't think we would see until later in life," says Kristin Scott, Noah's mom.

Noah's strength has not gone unnoticed. From people in Lompoc to people as far as Africa have shown support using the "you got this kid" phrase on social media.

"Noah's friend was here the night we found out what his diagnosis was she kind of just said "you got this kid," says Noah's dad.

It's a phrase showing Noah how many people are rooting for him throughout his journey.

"It's awesome, it's just a lot to take in, Lompoc has been awesome," says Noah.

The outpouring of support has helped Noah stay positive, allowing him to think about things he really enjoys, like scuba diving with his dad.

"Me and my dad got certified last year and we have gone on over 30 dives together it's really cool," says Noah.

As Noah keeps fighting, his family and friends will be there every step of the way, "don't give up, keep fighting, that's what Noah keeps saying, just keep fighting, just tomorrow wake up and fight for tomorrow, fight for tomorrow, don't think about 3 and a half years think about today," says his dad.

There are a number of fundraisers and events coming up to support Noah, you can find those on his Facebook page "Team NOAH."
