SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Authorities returned to Cachuma Lake in search of 5-year-old Aramazd Andressian who was reported missing Saturday.
Aramazd was last seen with Aramazd Andressian Sr., his father. The boy was supposed to be returned to his mother who is going through a divorce with his father, but that never happened. His mother was worried so she called 911. Authorities found Andressian Sr. unresponsive near a park in Pasadena.
According to Los Angeles County Sheriff’s, Andressian Sr. did not give any valuable information leading to his son’s location. His responses were confusing and convoluted.
However, a lead came in about Andressian Sr. having spent at least four hours at Cachuma Lake in Santa Barbara County.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s rushed to the lake and with assistance from Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue team, they searched on land and in the waters at the northern part of Cachuma Lake.
The search was called off Tuesday afternoon and Andressian Sr. was released from custody due to lack of evidence. His son has not been found.
However, authorities returned to Lake Cachuma Friday and searched a campground. Los Angeles County Sheriff’s did not explain why it returned to Santa Barbara County.
Kelly Hoover, public information officer for Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s, says scent dogs from the department’s search and rescue team were sent out to assist in the search.
