SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A two-car crash on the Turnpike overpass Monday morning sent one person to the hospital.
According to the California Highway Patrol three vehicles were involved in the collision at about 8:40 a.m. CHP officials said one of the vehicles involved is an on duty emergency vehicle.
It appears there were three Santa Barbara County Sheriff's detectives vehicles that had just exited southbound U.S. Highway 101 at Turnpike, and were heading back to headquarters when a woman driving a Volvo ran a red light and crashed into the third Sheriff's vehicle, according to CHP.
The woman was taken to the hospital with minor injuries and a pain to her chest. No Sheriff's detectives were hurt in the incident.
CHP is investigating the crash. They don't believe drugs or alcohol were a factor in this collision.
