The 29th annual Santa Barbara International Film Festival revealed its highly anticipated line-up.
Executive Director Roger Durling presented this years list of honorees and unveiled the 2014 festival poster. The poster is inspired by Santa Barbara county's lush wine country which is also the backdrop of the Oscar winning and locally filmed movie Sideways, made 10 years ago.
Two-hundred films will be featured at the festival including 23 world premiers and 31 U.S. Premiers. A host of panels, free seminars and family programming will be available to the public.
Of course the annual festival brings in some of the biggest names in the movie industry, and typically Academy Award frontrunners. Cate Blanchett, Durling's pick for an Oscar, will receive the Outstanding Performer of the year award for her role in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine.
Oprah Winfrey will be honored for her performance in Lee Daniels' The Butler. Martin Scorsese and Leonardo Dicaprio will receive the Cinema Vanguard Award. Also in the line-up, Robert Redford will take home the American Riviera award and Emma Thompson will be the festival's new Modern Master.
SBIFF kicks off January 30th at the Historic Arlington Theater and lasts until February 9th. For a complete line-up, including events, programs and ticket info, visit: www.SBIFF.org
