SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

San Marcos High School students are getting the royal treatment. The campus has rolled out it's Cafe' Royale Culinary Program.
The new class is open to students of all grade levels who are interested in getting into the food service industry.

Students learn a wide variety of skills from basic cooking lessons, knifing techniques, to learning about sanitation issues and food borne illnesses.
Classes are an hour and half long and serve 12-15 students at a time. Upon completion students take an exam and are given a certificate. They also can get college credit, 6-units at Santa Barbara City College.
