SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A warming center is set to open on Sunday in San Luis Obispo due to forecasted rain.
Community Action Partnership of San Luis Obispo County (CAPSLO) and Prado Warming Center are opening the warming center at 43 Prado Road to allow overnight guests a safe place to receive a hot meal and avoid the rain.
Clients can check in to the warming center starting at 4:45 p.m. The warming center closes at 8 a.m. on Monday but people staying overnight can access the services at Prado Day Center beginning at 8:30 a.m.
Pets are allowed and smoking is permitted in designated smoking area. Alcohol is not allowed at the sobriety-based facility.
The warming center is in need of donations. Sleeping bags, trash bags, disposable dishware, coffee, food and clothing are needed the most. Donations can be dropped off at the center, anyone with questions regarding donations should call (805) 786-0617.
