Storm Not Enough to Raise Reservoir Levels

Much of Rain Water Absorbed By Land

Storm Not Enough to Raise Reservoir Levels

LOPEZ LAKE, Calif. - Lopez Lake's water level rose six inches, but it wasn't enough to move the reservoir capacity levels, which is at 56%.

A park ranger says it's because the land surrounding the lake absorbed much of the rainfall and there wasn't very much run-off into the lake.

It's a good start though, because the next rainfall will produce more run-off.

The park ranger says it may take three or four storms like the one we last had to raise water levels significantly.

Though the lake is starting to look greener, the fire danger level is still at "High."
