SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - [UPDATE: 4:53 p.m.]

Two-hundred customers remain without power in San Luis Obispo County following a series of storm cells making their way through the Central Coast. 

A vast majority of those affected are in the Edna Valley area. 

PG&E officials said crews were on scene working as quickly as possible to restore the outages, including 7 downed power poles. 

There is no estimate on when power will be restored. 

PG&E encourages customers to stay away from any downed power lines, poles or electrical boxes and report outages to 9-1-1-. 


There were power outages, hail, and even flooding in San Luis Obispo County early Wednesday morning.

Torrential downpour at around 7 a.m., coupled with strong winds knocked down PG&E power lines. Nearly 2,000 of its customers were left without power. The company worked to fix it quickly, as of 10 in the morning about 400 of its customers were without power.

There was one person caught in the water in Pismo Beach.

Jason Kaufman of Arroyo Grande described the rain saying, "It was swirling and coming this way and that way and there was lightening, I was trying to surf."

The storm in the morning was coupled with a high surf warning which is in effect through Friday at 4 a.m.
