SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - An injured hiker was rescued from Bishop Peak Thursday evening after falling 15 feet from the popular hiking trail.
Cal Fire San Luis Obispo and the City of San Luis Obispo Fire Department responded to the peak to rescue the injured hiker who suffered a head injury.

The injured hiker was transported to the hospital via a Santa Barbara County Fire helicopter.
Hikers have fallen off the popular trail many times in the last few years. In 2016, Cal Poly freshman Evan LaLanne fell from the cliff side and was paralyzed.
