SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - High Surf Advisory is in effect for the Central Coast of Santa Barbara and San Luis Obispo County through Thursday night.
Surf of 9 to 11 feet with local sets to 14 feet will affect west and northwest facing beaches.
This surf will create strong and dangerous rip currents in the surf zone as well as waves that can suddenly wash people off of rocks and jetties.
Remember if you are caught in a rip current, swim parallel to shore until you are free of the powerful current.
If you get any photos of the waves over the next couple of days, email them to your KEYT Weather Team at Alan.Rose@keyt.com and Meredith.Garofalo@keyt.com.
