SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - Cal Poly San Luis Obispo is holding open events throughout the weekend, students were at a welcome ceremony Friday morning. This year is Cal Poly's 21st annual open house.
Adrene Kaiwi-Lenting, the director of new student programs, said the number of attendees is growing each year.
It's one of many open houses going on throughout the state of California. The university expects from 8,000 to 10,000 visitors throughout the weekend. Cal Poly has invited 15,000 students.
Kaiwi-Lenting said, "Students and parents are taking a big interest in wanting to make sure that they're making the right choice because it is an investment," she added "Our numbers are pretty high we invited over 15,000 students and we get a really good return in students wanting to attend."
The university has six colleges parents and students were able to visit.
