SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - A temporary closure of Highway 154 in Santa Barbara County due to the Thomas Fire is set to be lifted at 9:00 am Thursday morning.
Caltrans closed the highway from 5:00 am to 9:00 am to accommodate hundreds of fire trucks, engines and other emergency firefighting vehicles going to and from the active fire lines.
The Highway 154 closure was from Cathedral Oaks/Highway 192 on the Santa Barbara side to Highway 246 in the Santa Ynez Valley.
People who live or work in the closure area are allowed access with proper identification.
Caltrans further closures of Highway 154 may be necessary in the coming days.
