SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. - A brewery in San Luis Obispo is canning a different beverage to help out those affected by the Montecito mudslides.
SLO Brew is canning potable drinking water to send south to Santa Barbara County to aid with recovery efforts.
Drinking water can be hard to come by in disaster zones and many areas affected by the slides don't have access to clean water. Boil warnings are in place in Montecito, Summerland and Carpinteria.
SLO Brew began canning fresh reverse osmosis water usually reserved for brewing beer.
The brewery slapped a label donated by WS Packaging Solutions on the 16-ounce cans and loaded up a delivery truck.
The American Red Cross and the Unity Shoppe in Santa Barbara will distribute the drinking water to those affected by the mudslide.
The brewery will also be donating $1 for every pint purchased at either of its San Luis Obispo locations on Saturday, January 20.
