SANTA BARBARA COUNTY, Calif. - Residents told to evacuate Monday evening got a pleasant surprise when those orders were lifted Tuesday morning.
The Santa Barbara County officials lifted all Mandatory Evacuation Orders for Santa Barbara County effective at 10:30 a.m. March 13, 2018.
National Weather Service meteorologists said critical rain rates did not materialize in the burn areas as expected. Showers are expected throughout the afternoon and evening hours but they are not expected to reach critical levels to cause debris flows.
Several storms are expected to move through Santa Barbara south coast over the next week. Officials will monitor each of these storms and provide the community with further information.
Evacuated residents returning home that need a wheelchair or other specialized transport may call Easy Lift at 805-681-1180.
