ISLA VISTA, Calif. - Halloween is less than a week away, and while the ghoulish holiday brings out colorful costumes and fun for the kids, it also attracts extra visitors to Isla Vista which Goleta city officials say can cause parking problems for residents.
The Isla Vista Foot Patrol has already posted parking enforcement signs limiting parking in Isla Vista during Halloween from Friday, Oct. 27 to Wednesday, Nov. 1.
That is why Goleta is bringing back their Halloween Parking Permit program again this year.
To alleviate the parking issue, each household in the affected neighborhoods should have received two parking permits in the mail by Oct. 23. The parking restrictions are for the Goleta neighborhoods closest to Isla Vista.
The boundaries are:
- Cannon Green Drive to the west
- Hollister Avenue to the north
- Storke Road to the east
- and Whittier Drive to the south.

- 7 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28 to 7 a.m. Sunday, Oct. 29
Cars without permits will be cited and/or towed at the owner's expense.
