Santa Barbara home left uninhabitable after Sunday fire

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - Firefighters responded to a structure fire at a Santa Barbara home Sunday afternoon.

The fire broke out at a home on the 700 block of Juanita Avenue just after 1 p.m.

Arriving crews found heavy smoke billowing from the home. Santa Barbara City Fire Department ordered a full structure fire response to the residence.

At around 1:20 p.m., the fire was declared "under control." 

The home was unoccupied at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The residence was declared uninhabitable and the owners will not be allowed to return to the home.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
