SOLVANG, Calif. - Another long-awaited community shredding event will be taking place on Wednesday, May 17 in Solvang and hosted by the Santa Barbara County Sheriff's Office.
The free event offers residents a way to securely destroy confidential documents that otherwise could be used in crimes such as identity theft.
The event is sponsored by the Rotary Club of Santa Ynez Valley and the City of Solvang. Iron Mountain Shredding and Sheriff's personnel from the Solvang substation, will be onsite during the event.
The event will be at the Veteran's Memorial Hall parking lot located at 1745 Mission Drive from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m.
There is a limit of six file boxes per car, and no walk-ups will be allowed. The Sheriff's Office requests residents bring only paper products--no metal, binders or discs.
