Cal Fire involved in two ocean rescues on busy Saturday

PISMO BEACH, Calif. - Cal Fire San Luis Obispo division had a busy Saturday as they took part in two ocean rescues in San Luis Obispo County.

First, Cal Fire rescue crews conducted an ocean rescue near Spooners Cove in Montana De Oro State Park.

Morro Bay Coast Guard and Harbor Patrol assisted in recovering one person from the rocks near the water. Cal Fire declared all persons accounted for shortly after.



Later on in the afternoon, Cal Fire rescue swimmers assisted a pair of kayakers off the coast of Pismo Beach.

Rescue swimmers swam out to the struggling kayakers and assisted them back to shore.

All persons were accounted for and no one was injured.
