GROVER BEACH, Calif. - Railroad maintenance will keep W. Grand Avenue at the intersection with Highway 1 in Grover Beach closed until Wednesday night.
Crews will improve the track, make the crossing smoother for vehicles, and conduct scheduled maintenance on crossing arms.
The work is keeping downtown Grover Beach pretty quiet, which means slower business for local retailers and restaurants.
"Things are certainly a little slower," says Mindy Hunter, the office manager for BJ's ATV Rentals, which operates right on the corner of Grand Avenue and Highway 1. "We are still getting a lot of calls, but in terms of our walk-ins, we are down."
From the South, to access Highway 1 from Grover Beach, you will need to travel South on 13th Street or Oak Park Blvd to Cienaga Street in Oceano.
From the North, you will need to travel North to Highway 101 and get off at Price Street in Pismo Beach, then turn back West to Dolliver Street and turn South from there.
