Clinton makes steps toward speaking circuit

As she gets ready to kick off her speaking engagements, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has selected Harry Walker Agency to represent her on the circuit, the company announced on its website.

The same agency represents her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and a host of other high-profile names from politics and media, including former Vice President Al Gore and former Vice President Dick Cheney.

Clinton, who left her post at Foggy Bottom earlier this month, is expected to be a highly-sought speaker with compensation well into the six-figure range per speech. The former secretary of state had signaled she would be staying in the spotlight in her post-Obama administration life.

"I don't know everything I'll be doing. I'll be working on behalf of women and girls, hopefully writing and speaking, those are the things that I'm planning to do right now," she said in an interview with CNN last month.

While she told CNN she has "absolutely not plans to run" for higher office, she has also suggested she hasn't made a decision yet about a 2016 presidential bid. The mystery will only further boost interest in her speaking events and potential book deals.

The speaking circuit can be a highly profitable gig. Her husband, for example, has made more than $89 million in speech income since leaving office.
