SANTA MARIA, Calif. -

Police placed Pioneer Valley High School on lockdown after they say there were reports of a student making violent threats on social media.

Police say because of the severity of the threats, they placed the school on lockdwon around 11:30 Wednesday morning.  After assessing the situation, officers detained the student who allegedly made the threats.

The incident is still under investigation and police will interview the suspect to find out more information.
