SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -

The 86th Annual Academy award nominations are out just on the heels of The Santa Barbara International Film Festival. SBIFF is proud to welcome 15 Academy Award nominees to the area.

Many of the artists and films that have earned spots on the most coveted of ballots, will be featured in this years film fest.

Among the list--Golden Globe winner Leonardo DiCaprio got an Oscar nod for Best Actor, along with Martin Scorsese who was up for best director.  Both will be receiving the festivals Cinema Vanguard Award.

 
Hollywood's leading ladies up for "Best Actress" included the festival's choice for Outstanding Performer of the Year Award, Cate Blanchett. Jared Leto who also received his first Oscar nomination is headed to Santa Barbara to receive this years Virtuosos Awards.

The Film Festival kicks off January 30 at the Arlington Theater with the World Premier of  "Mission Blue."
