GOLETA, Calif. -

New York City is being taken over by the country's top computer hackers! Not to worry though it's all for a national competition.

It's a "capture the flag" contest where the top college hackers in the county try to exploit flaws in a series of different challenges. Although it may be a college contest the hacking team from Dos Pueblos High School scored so high in previous contests that they have been invited to the event being held in New York City.

"They invited us because we scored so highly that we would be competitive in a competition against students from universities," said team adviser Kevin McKee.

The group of five seniors and a sophomore are self starters who say they have only been competing in hacking contests for a short time.

Dos Pueblos is the highest-scoring high school hacking team in the county.
