An attorney for a Hollywood director says the family believes his son is responsible for a shooting rampage near a Santa Barbara, California, university campus.
Alan Shifman says that the family has not yet seen his body. But they have been told he was killed and believe he killed six people. Shifman is they attorney for Peter Rodger, who was an assistant director on The Hunger Games.
A young man identified as Elliot Rodger posted a nearly seven minute long rant on YouTube blasting women who he claims rejected and ignored him for eight years. He titled it "Elliot Rodger's Retribution."
Police say they are investigating the YouTube video connected to the case that shows a man describing a plan to kill women. Authorities have not confirmed the identity of the shooter, and the identity of the person in the video could not be independently confirmed.
