LOMPOC, Calif. -

Lockheed Martin visited Miguelito Elementary 5th graders after yesterday's launch.

A group of scientists who built the satellite came to Lompoc to watch it launch.

Then they stay an extra day to day to talk to students about satellites and their careers.

They also played trivia games and provided hands on activities about weather and space.

5th grade teacher Ms. Meggan Villegas says the visit is a perfect way to start the new education standards which many states have recently adopted.

Those standards shift learning to STEM, which stands for science, technology, engineering and math.
