Silverstand Hit-n-Run

Written by KEY News Staff

The California Highway Patrol placed a flashing sign at the site of a felony hit and run accident.

They are looking for information that will help them catch a driver who ran into three young girls across from the Beach on Victoria Avenue in Silverstrand around 7p.m. Saturday night.

A six year old named Brooke remains in critical condition at Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.

The others are recovering from moderate injuries and facial cuts and bruises.

Adam Judd, the father of the oldest girl injured, says they were walking to his house with another parent in a bike path along Victoria Avenue because there are no sidewalks in that area.

The girls are all students at Hollywood Beach Elementary School where fundraisers are being planned to help with their care.

One of them is being held at Chic-Fil-A on Rose Avenue tomorrow night.

Staples has donated flyers.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the CHP at 477-4100.

Joan Aronson who was walking on the outside of the bike lane with her daughters and Phoenix Judd issued this email statement earlier today, " 9 yr old recovering well from numerous facial and external injuries. 6 year old has been transported to critical care @ Children's Hospital Los Angeles for vertebrae trauma, lung and head injuries and broken femur...family and friends by families side awaiting prognosis and treatment plan.
