Oxnard City Manager On Leave

The Oxnard city council has voted to place the city manager on paid administrative leave.

Ed Sotelo has been a controversial figure ever since Ventura County's District Attorney raided city hall and launched a misconduct investigation.

But nothing has been revealed.

Sotelo has one more year on his contract.

The city will have to pay his $266,000.00 a year salary plus benefits or buy his contract out.

Sotelo supporters plan to speak out against the move before a closed door session next week.

In the meantime Assistant City Manager Karen Burnham will be in charge.
