CSUCI Park

Written by Tracy Lehr

Cal State University Channel Islands is home to a rugged 400 acre park.

But the University is trying to find ways to open it up to the public.

The University is holding a brain storming workshop tonight at the Campus Library to discuss the future of the park.

The park near the entrance of the Camarillo campus has plenty of open space and an old dairy covered with graffiti.

It also has areas where people with remote controlled planes and boats can share their hobbies.

Members of the Channel Islands Condors built an airstrip inside the park and hopes to maintain the area they have when the park becomes more user friendly.

The University hopes to come up with a plan by the Fall semester.
